Self-Pleasure is Self-Love in Practice

MAKE LOVE TO YOURSELF FIRST

Yes, yes, and YES.

This is your reminder—and your invitation—to spend time with the most important lover you'll ever have: yourself.

Self-pleasuring isn't simply about orgasm. It's a practice of presence. A practice of listening. A practice of self-love.

Just like yoga, meditation, breathwork, or dancing, it is a way of coming home to your body.

Because pleasure isn't something we earn.

It's our birthright.

Pleasure is life force. It is the current that animates us, fuels our creativity, deepens our intuition, and reminds us that we are alive.

Yet many of us have been taught to associate pleasure with guilt, shame, or something that should be hidden. What if, instead, you allowed yourself to experience pleasure as something sacred? Something nourishing. Something that belongs to you.

When you self-pleasure with presence, you're not only exploring sensation—you're cultivating a deeper relationship with yourself.

You're learning to listen.

To your desire.

To your tenderness.

To your numbness.

To your fear.

To your joy.

To every part of yourself without trying to change it.

This is self-acceptance in its purest form.

As Elisa Caro beautifully says, it's also "a natural confidence booster."

Two practices I always come back to:

1. Let go of the goal.

Don't rush.

Don't make orgasm the destination.

Instead, become curious.

How does your body want to be touched today?

Maybe your belly asks for attention.

Maybe your heart.

Maybe your thighs.

Maybe your yoni.

Follow sensation instead of expectation.

And if frustration, sadness, anger, or numbness arise, welcome them too. They are not obstacles to the practice—they are part of it.

Meet yourself with tenderness, curiosity, and compassion.

2. Breathe. Sound. Move.

Let your breath become slow, deep, and generous.

Imagine your breath circulating energy throughout your entire body—flowing down the front of your body as you inhale and rising up your spine as you exhale.

If sound wants to emerge, let it.

A sigh.

A moan.

A whisper.

Your voice is part of your pleasure.

As David Deida writes,

"Breath is the way our bodies make love with God."

So let your breath become your lover.

Enjoy your sacred practice.

And if you have your own rituals or insights around self-pleasure, I'd love to hear them in the comments. 💛
